ORLANDO, FL (June 19, 2007) - The 216-room Doubletree Castle Hotel is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Lazzara, CHA to the role of General Manager after serving as the interim General Manager of the AAA Four-Diamond Beaver Creek Lodge, a Kessler Collection luxury hotel. In this role, Lazzara will direct daily operations and continued hotel development of the unique fantasy-themed hotel located on International Drive.

Richard Kessler, Chairman and CEO of The Kessler Collection, says, Lazzara was a big asset to us during his role as interim general manager at the Beaver Creek Lodge. We are pleased he will be joining us and bringing his vast experience to the Doubletree Castle.

 

Prior to joining the Doubletree Castle with over 26 years of experience, Lazzara was most recently the general manager of both the Hilton Melbourne Beach and Doubletree Guest Suites Melbourne Beach Hotels in Melbourne Beach, FL and the Holiday Inn Crabtree Valley Mall in Raleigh, NC. He played a key role at the Hilton Melbourne Beach and Doubletree Guest Suites Melbourne Beach in renovating and repositioning both closed hotels after the 2004 hurricane season.  Lazzara has also held key management positions with Intercontinental Hotels, the Davidson Hotel Company, Opryland USA in Nashville, TN, and the Marriott Corporation.

 

Personal career highlights include his achievement of becoming a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), serving on the board of directors with the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce and his role as a marketing board member for the Brevard County Tourist Development Council.   Lazzara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Troy University in Troy, AL.
